chilly ski & snowshoe festival

In 2009, the Chilly Snowshoe Festival will morph into a brand new event at the Newcomb VIC: the Chilly Ski & Snowshoe Festival. It will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 17-18, 2009 as part of the VICs' Wild Winter Weekend.

The Paul Smiths VIC will have its own set of programs for this Agencywide festival. Check out the Paul Smiths VIC schedule.

The Chilly Ski & Snowshoe Festival will include children's activities and workshops.

The full schedule will be posted in December.

The Chilly Snowshoe Festival gives the VIC a perfect opportunity to show off its winter trail system, featuring 3.6 miles of snowshoe trails, with 1.5 miles also being used as cross-country ski trails.

Don't have equipment? Don't worry. Free snowshoe rentals will be offered by the Newcomb VIC. Also, the knowledgable staff from the Adirondack Mountain Club will give snowshoeing workshops. Skiers must bring their own equipment.

There's plenty of fun for kids! Search for the "Gold Medaliion," enter a Scavenger Hunt or take part in the children's activities.
